HOW TO GET TO THE CONFERENCE VENUE

National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia – Sala della Fortuna Piazzale di Villa Giulia, 9 – 00196 ROME

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Villa Giulia is well-connected by Rome’s public transport system (managed by ATAC).

TRAM

  • LINE 3: Stop “Flaminia/Belle Arti” (approx. 5-minute walk).
  • LINE 19: Stop “Museo Etrusco Villa Giulia” (the closest stop, approx. 1-minute walk).

METRO + WALKING / TRAM

  • LINE A: Get off at the “Flaminio” stop.
    • From here, you can reach the Museum with an easy walk of about 14-15 minutes through Villa Borghese.
    • Alternatively, from the “Flaminio” Metro stop, you can take Tram 2 or a local bus (see below).

BUS

Several bus lines stop nearby, including:

  • LINES (near stops): 52, 88, 95, 490, 495, 926, 628.
  • CLOSEST STOPS: “Buozzi/Monti Parioli”, “Galleria Arte Moderna”, “Belle Arti”, “Don Minzoni”, “Flaminia/Villa Giulia”.

ARRIVAL FROM FIUMICINO (FCO) OR CIAMPINO (CIA) AIRPORTS

FROM FIUMICINO AIRPORT (FCO)

  1. Leonardo Express Train:
    • Take the direct train to Roma Termini station.
    • Duration: approx. 32 minutes.
    • Cost: approx. €14.00.
  2. From Termini: Continue with METRO A (direction Battistini) and get off at “Flaminio” (as described above) or take a direct bus (e.g., C3 to “Flaminia/Villa Giulia”).

FROM CIAMPINO AIRPORT (CIA)

  1. Shuttle Bus (e.g., Terravision, ATerravision etc.):
    • These buses take you directly to Roma Termini station.
    • Duration: approx. 40-50 minutes (depending on traffic).
  2. From Termini: Continue with METRO A (direction Battistini) and get off at “Flaminio” (as described above).

USEFUL INFORMATION ON ATAC TICKETS

Tickets for the Metro, Tram, and Bus in Rome are all integrated (BIT – Integrated Time Ticket).

  • Standard Ticket (BIT): Valid for 100 minutes from the first validation (allows only one Metro ride). Cost: approx. €1.50.
  • Daily Ticket (BIG): Valid for 24 hours from the first validation. Cost: approx. €7.00.
  • PASSES: For those staying several days, 48-hour (€12.50) and 72-hour (€18.00) passes are available.

Where to buy tickets: At automatic ticket machines in Metro stations, newsagents (edicole), tobacconists (tabaccherie), and some bars.
